What A Weekend!

Well, another story for the books...

I spent friday driving lisa home from kent, and stopping in Oberlin Ohio at 8:30 b/c she had a court date. And let me tell you, Oberlin is literally a time warp. I felt like I was in a movie. We were sitting in court with the most random mix of people alive. We had to watch a video, have question and answer time, watch a rent a cop get his stance down pat, see an old man proudly plead guilty for being charged with having an open container in his car while driving, hear the judge make fun of this guy for not understanding that "no contest" means you have to have a defense, watch a man walk up to the judge with a drawing of "what really happened" and explain how he drove past a stopped school bus, and listen to the judge say," the law is pretty harsh, on people like you" to a girl who was driving on a suspended license and trying to get out of it. We laughed for an hour afterwards just trying to recover, and had so much fun reinacting the entire scene for our family. So great.

And, another one bites the dust...

Saturday we got up and drove with my mom and grandma to chicago b/c my cousin, Jordan, was getting married. Nothing is funnier than a huge group of crazy college students and adults dancing to "shake shake shake, shake your booty" and looking completely wasted while being completely sober. It was a blast. Sunday we got up and had brunch with the family, then headed home while I slept most of the way haha

Bump, Set, Spike

Last night was church and dinner at 5, with this amazing white chicken chili, and the guys watching football until service started. Then it was worship and a message from Zach that was so simple and true, we wondered why we've complicated it so much all this time. "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." And Romans 12:2, "... then you will be able to test and approve what the will of God is." How it is our job to prove the will of God. That His will in heaven be done on earth. The things that freely operate in heaven like joy, peace, health, and love are free to operate here on earth. he wants heaven on earth. That "thy kingdom come" is literally a phrase to bring heaven here to us, here and now. It was awesome. We ended up getting done about 7 and then headed downtown to the docks to the sand volleyball courts for some intense competitive games. Let me tell you, those boys don't mess around! I had sand in every place imaginable... and then some lol. I had my fair share of dives and saves and it was a so much fun. I can't wait for a rematch to claim our victory haha

So that's my recap. It was just an all around enjoyable weekend. I hope everyone's was just as great in one way or another! I'll talk to most of you soon, till then, much love :)
